Kumud is married to a Rajput, retired army officer who was born and brought up with the simple Gorkhas; the hostess has traveled widely in India, while accompanying her husband and has imbibed the great social and cultural diversity of India. A good cook, she personally supervises the preparation and services at THALTARA.
